![]() Setting up this lightweight yet durable hot tub takes minimal effort, though the instruction manual was a bit hard to decipher, which made setup take a little longer than expected. But for that reason, it’s worth mentioning that it took 32 hours to heat the water to 101 degrees Fahrenheit. Still, it’s on the bigger side compared to the two other models we tested. It features a whopping 170 high-powered jets set up all around the tub, and it’s designed to fit up to six people (although squeezing in that many would be a stretch-you might want to stick to four). The jets aren’t adjustable and don’t have massage functions.Īnother excellent inflatable hot tub that we tested is this model from Intex. Type: Inflatable | Dimensions: 71 x 71 x 26 inches | Capacity: 4 | Shape: Round | Material: PVC This might not be the fanciest hot tub around, but it’s still a solid option for those on a tight budget. And when you’re all done for the night, you can either close the hot tub up with the included cover to keep it safe until next time or fully deflate it for storage. You can adjust the hot tub’s water flow and temperature (up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit) via the digital control panel, and there’s a timer you can use to automate the temperature in advance of your soak. However, it’s important to note that those who can’t pull themselves up easily may have trouble getting in and out of this hot tub. There are no headrests or seats, but you can easily sit on the floor and enjoy feeling the water all around you (it came up to our chest while sitting). Due to its low price, there are no special features like adjustable jets, a waterfall, or LED lights-but the jets are quite strong, even if the placement is awkward (we wish they were on the sides for a back massage instead of on the floor). This hot tub is designed to fit up to four people, however, we found that its small design would be more comfortable for just three adults max. But unfortunately, instructions weren’t included in the packaging. (When you’re ready to put it away at the end of the season, you can remove the water and deflate it to save space.) In our tests, it took us about 30 minutes to assemble and inflate and two hours to fill with water. To set it up, you just need to inflate it with the included pump-no other tools are needed. This inflatable pick from Bestway is budget-friendly, but we found that it was still high-quality. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to enhance your backyard with a hot tub. It doesn’t have any seats, and the jet placement isn’t the best. Type: Plug and play | Dimensions: 60 x 70 x 32 inches | Capacity: 4 | Shape: Rectangle | Material: Plastic There aren’t many bells and whistles and it’s not as big as we thought it’d be, but if you’re looking for a great medium-sized hot tub, this one certainly won’t let you down. It required a bit of a learning curve, but we were able to figure everything out within the two-week testing period. Overall, we think that this is a great beginner or entry-level hot tub. And if you need to move the hot tub at any point, it’s luckily fairly lightweight. The safety cover locks in place to save energy and keep leaves and debris out when the tub isn’t in use. It comes in three colors and can reach up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit when fully heated. It’s advertised as a four-person hot tub, but we found that it could most comfortably fit two adults and two children. Additionally, the hot tub has four convenient cup holders (one for each person!) and basic bench seating. There’s also a cool LED-backlit waterfall, which has nine color settings to choose from. There was pretty much zero setup required, but it took us about 15 minutes to remove the packing materials and 28 minutes to fill it with water.Įven though it’s a pretty simple hot tub, this model features 12 multi-level jets with adjustable pressure for a relaxing massage. It stands out for its “plug-and-play” style, which means you can plug it into a traditional outlet (no electrician or tools needed!). We tested this four-person tub at home and were extremely pleased with its performance. ![]() Gurgling or “Glugging” Sounds as Water Goes Down the Drain Without a seal, harmful sewer drain gases can shoot back up into the pipes and into your home. That said, if a P-trap doesn’t get any water, it can’t create that seal. They do so by keeping a tiny bit of water in a little dip, which then creates a seal for these gases. P-traps “contain” or hold on to sewer gases so that they won’t pass through the pipes and into homes. This then results in the plumbing P-traps to dry out. The reduced air pressure from the vent can completely empty out the drainpipes. If you notice these smells (or exhibit symptoms of methane exposure), you may have a clogged vent stack. Inhaling it, however, can lead to symptoms like headaches, nausea, and dizziness. Note that methane is the largest constituent of sewer gases though. The latter, by the way, can make your home smell like rotten eggs. Those are usually caused by toxic sewer gases like ammonia and hydrogen sulfide. Foul Smellsįoul smells that you’d only usually smell from a sewer line can also signal a clogged vent stack. If your toilet tank doesn’t refill, that’s often an indication of a clogged vent stack. Water won’t stay where it should, your toilet tank in this case, and instead, just keep flowing down the pipe. A blockage reduces or even completely eliminates that air pressure. Keep in mind that the vent stack regulates air pressure in your home’s plumbing system. That’s right - you’ll have no water in the tank to flush away what you need to. The exact opposite can happen if the plumbing air vent gets clogged. That’s about or more than twice the average water consumption of a single person in the U.S.!Ī leak in your toilet tank isn’t the only issue you can experience with it though. ![]() Dry and Empty Toilet Tanksĭid you know that a single leaky toilet can waste a shocking 200 gallons of water a day? If not, then it may mean there’s a clog inside the vent, the drain pipes, or both. Then, check the affected drains to see if they’re now working great. If it’s safe to climb up to your roof, remove the debris covering the vent. The good news is, it can be easy to clear a clogged plumbing vent if the blockage is only at the vent’s opening. If not, or if it happens to multiple areas in your home, then the next likely culprit is a clogged vent. Try using a plunger first to see if this will do the trick. If you experience this issue with only one drain, chances are, it’s a clogged drainage pipe. Keep in mind though that slow-to-drain water can also signal blockages in a drain pipe. This can be your bathtub or shower drains, sink drains, or toilets. Debris blocking the vent won’t allow air to get inside and push the water out of drainage pipes.Īny drain in your home that takes forever to drain can be due to a blocked vent. If used water takes a long time to drain, that can be a sign of a clogged vent stack. It’s during such times that you’ll start noticing the following symptoms of a clogged vent. That’s why it’s easy for the vent to get clogged - dust, debris, leaves, and other things can block its opening. Since the opening of a vent stack is outside (usually on the roof), it’s vulnerable to outdoor elements. This can then result in the water flowing back up and out of drains. Stagnant water can then accumulate in the pipes until the pipes can no longer contain them. ![]() It also gets rid of gasses and odors that wastewater can leave behind.Ī clogged vent won’t let air through and into the pipes, so the water remains stagnant in the plumbing system. It admits air into the plumbing system, which then pushes water throughout the pipes. The plumbing vent - also called plumbing air vent or vent stack - acts as an air pressure regulator. For the water to move smoothly through the pipes, it needs air to push it and replace the vacuum it creates. Keep reading as we’ve listed the common symptoms you need to know of!
